Family Tree Maker Workshop

The Computer Interest Group (CIG) is fortunate to be able to provide an opportunity to hear Duff Wilson, Program Development Manager for Ancestry.com, publisher of FTM, at an all-day workshop on Saturday, October 16. Learn about the newest features and how to get the most out of the FTM genealogy program. The workshop will be held at our regular meeting location at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Denver.
If you’re shopping for a genealogy software program or have already been using the Family Tree Maker (FTM) software, this workshop is for you. Non FTM users will also find this Workshop interesting and useful. CIG is providing this workshop as a FREE benefit to its members. Non-CIG members can attend for a $20 fee.
Session One (9:30 a.m.-12 noon)
- Using Family Tree Maker to its fullest (customizing & making it work for you)
- Managing relationships (adopted, step, not married, etc.)
- Resolving place names and using maps
- Organizing media (photos, documents, etc.)
- Adding sources and using source templates
Session Two (1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.)
- Using Family Tree Maker with Ancestry.com (record search, examine data merge, source data, online trees, etc.)
- Searching the Internet (almost anywhere) and incorporating results into your tree
- Creating printed output (charts, reports, books, etc.)
- Questions and Answers
Lunch will be on your own. You may either bring a brown bag lunch or purchase a Sloppy Joe lunch, furnished by Lynette Dick, for a $5 donation (paid the day of the seminar). Breakfast refreshments will be provided before the workshop and drinks will be available throughout the day.
